The GA‑8000 is a modern large-diaphragm tube condenser microphone inspired by the classic C‑800G design, with solid-state Peltier cooling integrated into the housing to stabilize thermal conditions around the tube and reduce self-noise. It uses a NOS 6AU6 tube running at optimized operating voltage, with a dual-diaphragm capsule and premium signal path components including a Rogers ceramic circuit board and high-spec capacitors.
The sound is open in the high end without excessive sibilance and delivers a low end that feels grounded but not hyped. Unlike many modern tube microphones, the GA‑8000 maintains transient speed and resolution across the spectrum while providing some harmonic saturation, especially in the upper midrange.
It handles high SPL without compression artifacts, making it suitable for modern pop, rap and R&B vocal production where air, detail and forward presence are key. The cardioid and omnidirectional patterns are switchable via the power supply.
